He was born in July of 1921 in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Charles was graduate of San Luis Obispo High School.
In 1941 he married Lois Augusta Cool from Pismo Beach, California.
Charles served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad and then in the 1960's he changed his career path and joined the California Department of Corrections as a Correctional Peace Officer at the California Men's Colony.
Charles attended Cal Poly and went on to become a Sergeant at the California Men's Colony, retiring in the mid 1970's.
Mr. Cragon is survived by his two daughters, Charlotte (Cragon) Gentry and Kay (Cragon) Vallely.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lois Augusta (Cool) Cragon.
