John Allen Andrew, 77, Spring Hill, Kan., passed away Oct. 26, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Sat., Oct. 31, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 555 W. Main, Gardner, KS 66030. Entombment follows at 2 p.m. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa, Kan. Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Fri., Oct. 30, at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, (913) 856-7111 with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Adorers of the Blood of Christ; Great Plains SPCA or Crossroads Hospice.

John was born June 24, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, to Elwood and Mary Ellen (Somers) Andrew. He graduated from Chaminade High School in Dayton. John served in the US Army Reserves for eight years. He married Mary Jo Walsh in Prairie Village, Kan., on Nov. 27, 1965. John worked as a sales manager for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 35 years and worked for Clemens & Green in Paola, Kan., for 10 years. John was the former President of the Johnson County Farm Bureau and Water District #7. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #10407 and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a council member and board member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 12 years and also served as a communion minister. His volunteer work included founding and managing Grandpa's Barn at the Johnson County Fair for 35 years. John was always a hard worker who served his community through volunteer work. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Eileen Duckro and brother, Elwood Andrew, Jr.
