Cecil J. Privett, age 66, of Troutdale, Va., the Razor Ridge Community, died Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va. He was born July 4, 1949, at Grayson County, Virginia, to the late Roby James Privett and Lillie Grace Ross, and was also preceded in death by a son, Allen Privett. Surviving are his wife, Teddie Mabe Privett of the home; daughter, Jessie Anette Cooper of Piney Creek, N.C.; a sister, Viola Cox of Independence, Va.; five grandchildren, Jessica Cooper, Cody Cooper, Mikalaya Edwards, Crystal Cooper, and Dustin Cooper; two great grandchildren, Amanda Pennington, and Mykeilah Weekly, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Chapel, Independence, Va. Interment will be held in Young Family Cemetery, Troutdale, Va. The Rev. Tim Barr and the Rev. Andy Blevins will officiate.
