HOLSTEAD YOUTH FOUND DEAD SATURDAY MORNING
Funeral services and burial for Preston Holstead, 23, who was found
dead Saturday morning in a cotton gin at Pioneer, were conducted Sunday
after- noon. The Rev. Jack H. Midyett, pastor of the Pioneer charge of
the Methodist church, delivered the sermon at the home of his parents,
near Pioneer, and officated at rites conducted at the "old" Forest
cemetery, where interment was made.
Holstead, who is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Holstead,
with whom he resided on their farm, and several brothers and sisters,
was said to have died of skull fractures allegedly recieved Friday
night in a fight at the gin.
