Evelyn Mae Howard Davis, 49, died in her Lafayette home at 10:30 AM Sunday [April 7, 1968], following a year of failing health. Born here, she was a life resident and a graduate of Jefferson High School. In 1942, she was married to Troy A. Davis, who survives. Mrs. Davis was formerly employed as a cook at Charley's Drive-In, and was a member of Brown Street Methodist Church.

Surviving with her husband are four daughters, Mrs. Thomas [Carol Ann] Miner of Clarks Hill, Mrs. James [Gloria Jean] DesEnfants of Lafayette, Miss Janet Sue Davis and Miss Pamela Kay Davis, both at home; her mother, Mrs. Velma Wyant of Lafayette; four brothers, Paul Howard, Harold Howard, Raymond Howard, all of Lafayette, and Norman Howard of Rt. 7 Lafayette; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Campbell, Mrs. Robert Armstrong, both of Lafayette, and Mrs. Robert Howe of Grays Lake, IL; and three grandchildren.
