Mrs. Edith Reese Baylies, 73 of 8 DeLotto Drive, Mercerville, died suddenly Tuesday at St. Francis Medical Center.

Mrs. Baylies was born in Plymouth, Pa., and had lived in the Trenton area for nearly 40 years.

She was the Worthy Matron of Morning Star Chapter 22, Order of the Eastern Star; past Mother Advisor of Trenton Assembly Oder of the Rainbow for Girls; and a former member of the Clinton Avenue Baptist Church.

The wife of the late Alfred John Baylies, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joan B. Koester of Riverdale, NY.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave. Rev. William R. Nelson, a member of the staff of Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the memorial home. The Trenton Assembly 9 will hold a Rainbow service at 7 p.m. Morning Star Chapter 22 will hold Eastern Star services at 8 p.m.

Contributions may be made to either the Eastern Star Home, Finderne, NJ or the Shriners' Hospital for Children, in care of Crescent Temple Shrine, 50 N. Clinton Ave., Trenton 08609.
