He entered the U.S. Army Dec. 11, 1952, and was discharged Nov. 16, 1954. He served during the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal.
After serving in the military, he went to work for General Motors.
He married Louise Simpson. They had one son.
Mr. Brown enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Helen Loughridge; and seven brothers, Paul Clarence Brown, Leo Harold Shetler, Larry Alvin Brown, Howell Brown, Roy Brown and infant twins, who died at birth.
Surviving are his son, Danny Brown Sr. of St. Louis; his mother of Houston; two sisters, Shirley Holbrook and Doris Cornell of Houston; and one grandson.
Services are 2 o'clock today (Thursday) at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Allen Cemetery.
