Port Huron- Vernon F. Dickinson Sr., 63, died Saturday Feb. 22, 1986, in Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. He was born Aug. 22, 1921 in Oklahoma. Mr. Dickinson was a member of Charles A. Hammond Post No. 8 American Legion and Charles Schoor Post VFW No. 796. He served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by a son, Vernon Dickinson Jr., Lexington, two daughters, Mrs. Stan (Judy) Dilley, France, and Mrs. James (Diane) Brunson, Bay City; five grandchildren, Kristin, Brian, and Anna Dilley, France, and Julie and Kathleen Brunson, Bay City; two sisters Joann Arnold, and Nancy (Reany) Radatz, both of Port Huron; two brothers Raymond and Orville Dickinson, both of Port Huron. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday in Arthur Smith Funeral Home- North Chapel. The Rev. Harold Prong will officiate. Burial will be in Allied Veterans Cemetery, Port Huron. Visiting is 2-9 p.m. Monday and until time of services Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Fred Spooner, Dan Spooner, James Brunson, Stan Dilley, Raymond Dickinson, and Floyd Bills.
