Obituary of A.W. Johnson.

Albert W. Johnson was born in Charlotte county, Virginia, December 25th, 1827, and died at the home of his son Sherwood, February 15, 1917, being 89 years, 1 month and 21 days old. He was converted at the age of 16 and united with the Baptist church shortly after. He was married to Miss Emily A. Mann December 20th, 1847, and they lived in Virginia until 1857, when they moved to Platte county, Missouri. In Missouri, there being no church of their choice convenient to attend, they united with the Christian church. To this union were born ten children, and on September 7th, 1867, the mother passed away, leaving them and the husband to mourn her loss. On January 25th, 1872, Mr. Johnson was married to Margaret M. Hancher and they continued to reside there for ten years, when they moved to Butler county, Kansas, and from there to Pratt county in 1892, and moved from there to Edwards county, where they lived until the death of the wife, on January 27th, 1907. To this union five children were born, two having preceeded the mother to the better world.

The deceased was the last of his family and only five of his children remain to mourn his loss. He was highly respected and was a faithful Christian until the end. The funeral services were conducted at Prattsburg Hall and interrment [sic] was in Prattsburg cemetery.

Note: Albert was the son of Isaac F. And Margaret (Green) Johnson. He had at least eight siblings.
