Ron was born Oct. 19, 1934, in Chillicothe, Mo., to Charles Elmer and Hazel Adams. He grew up in the Kansas City area, graduating from East High School in 1951.
On Oct. 17, 1953, he was united in marriage to Barbara Toncray in Osawatomie. They made their home in Kansas City, Mo., until moving to rural Paola in 1991.
He was employed for many years as an electronics technician and supervisor with Western Electric/AT&T before his retirement.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife around the country and especially going to the Kansas City Chiefs training camps. He also enjoyed playing golf and attending family events.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; one son, Bryan; one sister, Shirley; and two brothers, Richard and John.
Survivors include his children, Charles R. Adams Jr. (Linda) of Fort Worth, Texas, Bret Adams (Sally) of DeBary, Fla., Kim Backman (Mike) of Olathe; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jean Brooks of Overland Park.
Services were Tuesday, followed by burial in Osawatomie Cemetery. Arrangements were by Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS 66071, (913) 294-2372.
