TUSCOLA: Linda Marie Abbe, 66, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Tuscola, with her husband Troy Abbe at her side. Visitation will be held at Fry~Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola, TX from 5-7pm on Sunday, November 1, 2015. Services will be held at Lawn Baptist Church in Lawn, at 10:30 am Monday, November 2, 2015 followed by interment at McBee Cemetery in Ovalo, officiated by Price Mathieson, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola.

Linda was born September 17, 1949 in Seminole, to Billy Mac and Charlene (Landers) Stephens. She was the sister of two brothers, Billy and Eddie and a sister to Karen. She married the love of her life, Troy, on November 20, 1972 in Abilene.

Linda was loved by all she knew. Those who knew her knew the love she had for God. She was affectionately known to many as a “second mother.” Her greatest love was her family, especially her husband Troy, her sons TJ and Billy, her “daughter that she finally got,” Jessica, and her puppy, Little Bit. Linda graduated from Sierra Blanca High School and went on to Cosmetology School in El Paso. Although a career in cosmetology was not her calling, she continued her life by working at Timex in Abilene where she ultimately met Troy through Beverly McConnell (Troy’s sister). Linda also worked at Texas Instruments before retiring from Abilene State Supported Living Center in September of 2011. Linda enjoyed her retirement spending time with her father and taking care of her niece.

She is survived by her father, Billy Mac Stephens of Tuscola; husband, Troy Abbe of Lawn; son, Billy Abbe and his wife Jessica of Abilene; brother, Billy Stephens and his wife Charlene of Midland; brother, Eddie Stephens and his wife Susie of Wink; sister, Karen Pruett and husband James of Lawn; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Gladys Stephens of Tuscola; Arthur and Izora Landers of Tuscola; mother, Charlene Stephens of Tuscola; her eldest son, TJ Abbe of Tuscola.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Children’s Youth Group at Lawn Baptist Church, 518 Avenue D, Lawn, Texas 79530, a cause very near and dear to Linda’s heart.

Condolences can be left at www.fry-smith.com.
