Lance Cpl. Wayne Harry Elwood Tsosie, beloved son, 28, of Mexican Water, Ariz., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, in Camp Pendleton, Calif. He was an active member of the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country and the Great Dinè Nation. He was active duty stationed at Camp Pendleton. He served for ten years and did six tours. He loved his family, friends and country very much. He was born Sept. 1, 1987, in Shiprock. He graduated from Red Mesa High School in Red Mesa, Arizona, in 2005 and soon after enlisted in the Marine Corps. He had a passion for football and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan.Wayne is survived by his mother, Shana (Steven) Sue Hicks Begay; his father, Duane (Vina) Tsosie; maternal grandmother, Margaret E. Hicks; sisters, Candace Hicks, Tiffany Tsosie and Steffiny Tsosie, and many caring family members and friends.Wayne was preceded in death by his cousin, Carlton Tsosie; aunt, Sarah Poncho; uncle, Toby Tsosie; grandparents, Bobby W. Hicks, Daisy Tsosie and Harry Tsosie; and his great-grandparents; William B. Scott, Ida Mae Scott, Mary Tsosie and H. Tsosie. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2 at the Desert View Funeral Home Chapel in Shiprock. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the Piñon Hills Community Church, 5101 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington. Interment was in the family cemetery in Mexican Water, Arizona. Wayne is in the care of the Desert View Funeral Home, North U.S.
