Richard Lee Arthur of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully Friday, October 30, 2015, at Westminster Village North in Indianapolis. He was 83 years old. Richard was born September 21, 1932 in Gem, Indiana to the late Albert and Lois (Lamb) Arthur. Richard graduated from New Palestine High School in 1950. He married Joyce Mae (Miller) on June 10, 1951.
Richard retired from Indiana Bell after 37 1/2 years of service on February 16, 1990. Mr. Arthur was a volunteer fire fighter in New Palestine and a farmer for many years. He served in the National Guard from 1949 to 1952. He was a member of the Franklin Road Baptist Church, and he and Joyce volunteered for Christian Ministries for the Lord throughout the years.
Richard is survived by his wife Joyce (Miller) Arthur; daughters Sharon Koontz of Indianapolis, and Terry Kinder of Greenfield; sons Randy Lee Arthur of Oldsmar, FL and Roger Lee (Tami) Arthur of Greenwood; 8 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Arthur are 2:00 pm Sunday November 1, 2015 with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service at Hendryx Mortuary, 19 E. Main Street, New Palestine, IN 46163.
