He was raised on the family farms in Bear River City and Corinne, UT. During his youth and early adulthood he spent many hours playing baseball. He was an outstanding ball player for Box Elder High School, Weber State College and the Brigham City Peaches. In his later years he became an active and ardent golfer. He graduated from Weber State College with an accounting degree. On August 17, 1953, he was married and sealed to Mary Ann Hall in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Roland spent his working life in the automobile business and was the Andersen's Ford-Mercury dealer in Brigham City until his retirement. He was active in civic affairs, serving on the Brigham City Planning and Zoning Commission and belonged to the Jaycees, the Rotary Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Roland was a member of the LDS church and served in various capacities, including Scoutmaster, Sunday School teacher and officiator at the Ogden LDS Temple. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Ann, his children: Craig Holman (Becky), of Sammamish, WA, Wendy (Jeff) Alder, of Malad, ID, and Leigh Ann (Kerry) Norman of Brigham City and a brother, Dwight U. Holman (Carol) of Brigham City. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Roland was pre-deceased by his parents and one granddaughter, Ashlee Alder. The family especially wishes to thank Drs.
