DANVILLE, Va. - Pattie Witcher Blair, age 72, of Danville, died as a result of drowning. Her body was found Oct. 27, 1993. She was born in Pittsylvania County on Nov. 24, 1920, daughter of James Liscomb Blair and Lucy Kate Murphy Blair.
She had been employed by Dan River for six years, and later by DuPont in Martinsville until she retired. She had lived most of her life in Danville and Martinsville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Martinsville.
Surviving are stepmother, Ocie Brumfield Blair; three sisters, Alease B. Carter, Nellie B. Coleman and Ernestine B. Mize; three nieces also survive.
A Graveside service will be at Highland Burial Park.
