CAPEL, Margaret Vera Soanes - Passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on February 23, 2010, at Lee Manor, in her 86th year. Predeceased by her devoted husband Donald and her parents Mack Soanes and Vera (Vipond) of Oshawa who influenced her life greatly.
Survived by her loving sons Paul and his wife Donna (Owen Sound), and Mack and his wife Kathy House (Richmond Hill), and her granddaughter Paula and her husband Scott Dixon (Kansas City) and grandson Matthew (Toronto), and great-grandson Jack Dixon.
Predeceased by her loving sisters Catherine Gilbert and Pauline Smith. She was a source of pleasure and enjoyment to many nieces and nephews. “Mame“ will be greatly missed by countless wonderful friends whose lives she enriched.
She dearly loved the numerous caregivers and friends who helped her through the final stages of her life's journey. She will be fondly remembered for her intelligence, wit, creativity and spirit. Marg spent years in real estate, served on the Niagara Escarpment Commission and was a leader and was actively involved in numerous committees and projects in Owen Sound including Homecomings, the Historical Society, Museums and the most recent being the Peace Labyrinth at the Division Street United Church.

Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate her life will be held at the Division Street United Church on Friday, March 12 at 11:00 a.m.
