T. C. Coursey, 89, a retired automotive mechanic, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at a local hospital.


Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at Antioch Baptist Church, 5420 Cottey Street. Burial: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.


Mr. Coursey worked many years at historic Baker Funeral Home, and later owned Coursey Auto Repair.


He was a deacon at Rising Star Baptist Church and later joined Antioch, under the late Rev. Charles Kelly.


Survivors: Sons, Thomas C. Coursey, Carlton T. Coursey and Claude High; daughter, Nellie Faye Coursey; eight grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
