She was the daughter of the late Glen and Myrtle Patterson Anderson and the wife of the late Rondal S. Ledford, who died November 10, 1995. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Fay Floyd and Madge Parton; one brother, Ralph Anderson; and one great granddaughter, Jacqueline Crisp.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Ledford of Hayesville, Glenda Martin and husband, Ronnie of Hiawassee, Georgia, and Joyce Thompson and husband, Harold of Woodville, Georgia; two sons, David Ledford and wife, Lannie, and Bobby Ledford all of Hiawassee, Georgia; one sister, Clyde Daracott of Buford, Georgia; two brothers, Ray Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia and Jack Anderson of Hayesville; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2015 in the Shooting Creek Church of God with the Rev. Rob Sizemore, Rev. Scott Demers, and Denver Ledford officiating. The interment was in Old Ledfords Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Caleb Sellers, John Ledford, Kyle VanNus, Jason Cook, Cody Morris, and Francis Mario Beaty.
The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville where the body remained until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Doris Ledford to the Shooting Creek Church of God, 3685 Old Hwy 64 East, Hayesville, NC 28904 or to Old Ledfords Chapel Cemetery, c/o Bobby Ledford, 2481 Clovis Road, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
