The daughter of Francis M. Bowler and Grace A. Lawrence, "Mae" graduated from Roxana High School in Roxana, Madison County, Illinois as a member of the Class of 1947.

Mae married Henry Leonard Oller on 2 Mar 1948 at Roxana Presbyterian Church. He was a pilot for the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.

"Mae and June," as they were known, were the parents of 1 child. The family lived in Roxana.

June was a carpenter at the Clark Oil refinery in Madison County for 39 years. He served as the mayor of Roxana for a time and retired from Clark in November of 1985.

The Ollers were active members of the United Presbyterian Church in Wood River, Illinois.

June used his carpentry skills to build a home in Missouri where they were planning to retire at the time of his death due to cancer. June passed away in 1994.

Children from first marriage: 1 son.

Mae married Harold "Pat" Patterson on Valentine's Day 1997. He was the father of 1 child from a previous marriage.

Mae and Pat lived in Texas.

Children from second marriage: 1 step-daughter.

Mae died at Covenant Medical Center in Texas 17 days after her 70th birthday.

She was survived by her husband, Pat; 1 son of Lubbock, Texas; 1 step-daughter and her husband of Godfrey, Illinois; 1 grandson; 1 step-granddaughter; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Rosie Bowler of Roxana; 1 niece; and 1 nephew.

In addition to her first husband, Mae was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on 16 Jul 1999 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. the following morning at the United Presbyterian Church in Wood River.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the church.
