She was a dedicated nurse for 33 years and worked at Houlton Regional Hospital and A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle. She had a passion for knitting afghans and dish cloths and would give them away to everyone she knew.
Merline is survived by her husband, Eugene Thibodeau Sr. of Caribou; sons, Elton Thibodeau and his companion, Caroline Dubay, of Mapleton, Eugene "Larry" Thibodeau Jr. of Caribou, Carl Thibodeau of Caribou, and David Thibodeau of Caribou; a daughter, Carla Thibodeau of Caribou; three granddaughters; one grandson; four great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, James Hafford, Harry Hafford, Cyrus Hafford, and Elmer Hafford; and sisters, Mina Maclellan, and Amanda Norman.
