Lucas Palen, 81, of Ashokan, died Tuesday following a long illness.
He was a retired farmer and former blacksmith.
Surviving are a son, Clarence Palen; a sister, Mrs. William Herberg of Stattsville. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 2 p.m. at the Lasher Funeral Home Inc., Woodstock. The Rev. James Cook, pastor of the Overlook Methodist Church of Woodstock will officiate.
Burial will be in Bushkill Cemetery, West Shokan. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
