US Congressman. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1855 to 1859. Prior to joining the House of Representatives, he served as sheriff of Lancaster County from 1839 to 1842 and as a United States Marshall for the eastern district of Pennsylvania from May 1850 to March 1853. He was the manager of various real estate holdings at the time of his death and also served as executor for several estates located throughout the Lancaster area.
