Vivian Marie Aldous, 74, of Brownsville (Low Hill) died Monday, January 2, 2006, in Greenery Specialty Care Center, Canonsburg, following a long illness.

She was born March 24, 1931, in Brownsville, a daughter of William E. Davis and Mary Ryan Deems.

Mrs. Aldous was Protestant.

She was a social member of Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391 in Fredericktown.

Mrs. Aldous worked as a waitress at Packralls Restaurant in Fredericktown for many years.

She married David Aldous, who died February 11, 1994.

Surviving are two sons, William E. Davis and Wilson Donald (Donnie) Davis, both of Brownsville (Low Hill); two daughters, Irene M. Poling and Nancy L. Gaul, both of Fredericktown; two stepchildren, Davy Aldous and Linda Aldous; two granddaughters, Theresa Poling Cook of Centerville and Andrea Gaul of Fredericktown; two grandsons, Shawn Poling of Fredericktown and Joshua Gaul of Fredericktown; three sisters, Naomi Puskarich of Scenery Hill, Mary Lee Hodgson of Sparks, Nev., and Doris Dickenson of Bentleyville; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are her stepfather, Hallick Deems; a grandson, Jason Davis, who died September 16, 2001; two sisters, Shirley Smith and Wilma Lynn, who died in infancy; and a brother, Hallick "Sonny" Deems.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 6, with the Rev. Edd Myers officiating. Entombment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
