Charles E. "Chubby' Adams, 64, of 2210 St. Mark Road, died September 29, 1997, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hanes-Lineberry, Vanstory Street Chapel. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Adams was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, a charter member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason with the Gate City Lodge 694, and was a member of the United Commercial Travelers. He served as a former Guilford County Elections judge, was employed with the A&P Food Stores for approximately 30 years, and was retired from Van Waters and Rogers Chemical Company.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 43 years, Doris Oakley Adams of the home. He was a loving father to his children, Pamela Adams Smith of Aberdeen, Charles E. Adams Jr. and Jon A. Adams, both of Greensboro. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Ola and Alex Cozzi of Aberdeen; and three grandchildren, Charles Edward "Eddie" Adams III, Amanda Leigh Smith and Mark Andrew Smith.
