Wanda was born in a one room home. Her family moved to Harris County, Texas and then to a farm for a couple of years. The family moved back to Harris County and then to West Texas. Wanda quit school two months shy of finishing the ninth grade at what is now referred to as the old Crockett Jr. High School in Odessa. It has since been torn down.


She loved to dance and especially jitterbug, also Bop, Waltz and Two Step.


In 1955 she attended Rutherford Metropolitan School of Business and finished as an Executive Secretary.....

She married Louis Edward Westfall 26 July 1956

She went to Beauty School 1959 and got her Manicurist license. In 1970 she got her GED and went to Licensed Vocational Nursing school along with two sisters-in-laws a niece by marriage . In 1991 she went back to college and graduated with an Applied Science Degree in nursing and went on to get her Registered Nurse License. Wanda worked as an RN for many years.


She retired and spent a lot of her time placing memorials and headstone photos on Findagrave.com for the next few years. She loved words, puzzles and reading.


She joined the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Org., the Daughters of the American Revolution and was eligible for Daughters of the Confederacy, Austin's Old 300 and other historical organizations. She and her daughter , daughter-in-law and three of her grandchildren worked for over ten years in the DRT and CRT organizations. Two of her grandchildren were President General of the CRT at one time and then the other. The youngest grandson served the CRT in numerous positions during those years but decided he did not want to be the President the year he was eligible. They travelled extensively over Texas during that time.


She and Ed had three children and five grandchildren.

She met, loved and married Ed.. They had been married just shy of 35 years when Ed died.
