Services for Miss Belva Lockwood Allen of Kosciusko, a former correspondent for the Commercial Appeal, were held at the First Methodist Church in Kosciusko, Wednesday afternoon, March 11. Burial was in the city cemetery with Jordan Funeral Home in charge.
Miss Allen passed away Tuesday, March 14, at the Winona Infirmary after a long illness. She was 49. She was born in Madison County, and had lived most of her life in Kosciusko.
She leaves three sisters, Mrs. E. B. Stevens of Duncan, Miss., Mrs. J. O. Screuen of Birmingham, and Mrs. Oscar J. Onley of Chicago, and five brothers, S. H. Allen of Winona, Luther M. Allen of San Francisco, R. A. Allen of Passadena, Texas, W. B, Allen of Houston, Texas, and Fred Allen of Overlin, Kansas
