EK (Ernest) Pritchard, 89, of Parkersburg passed away Nov. 8th, 2015. EK was born November 24th, 1925 in Princeton, WV, the son of Ernest Eugene Pritchard and Bookie Brewster Pritchard.

Following service in the US Navy, he graduated from the Elgin Watchmakers School and opened a jewelry store in Rainelle, WV and then moved the store to Princeton, WV.

EK moved to Parkersburg in 1965 as a State Farm Insurance Agency Manager. He was a member of the Princeton Masonic Lodge 134, Vienna Masonic Lodge 172, the Parkersburg Scottish Rite Masons, 32 Degree and the Parkersburg Nemesis Shrine. He served as Potentate of the Nemesis Shrine in 1982 and was a member of the Calvary Commandery No. 3 since 1988. EK was a member of Stout Memorial Methodist church.

Throughout his life EK enjoyed traveling, camping on the Greenbrier River, boating on the Ohio & Little Kanawha Rivers, teaching his kids to water ski and wintering in Florida. He and his wife Virginia were accomplished ballroom dancers. EK was a master chef of cookouts at family gatherings.

His sons and grandsons carry on this family tradition, maybe with fewer burnt items.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, son Tony Pritchard, as well as his second wife Ginny Houchins.

The Pritchard family would like to thank Ohio Valley Health Care for the years of care and kindness shown to EK and his family. The nurses and staff went above and beyond and became an extended family. Special regards to Eska Camp for being a great friend and companion to EK.

Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Paul Russell Wednesday, Nov 11th, 1:00 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral with Masonic Rites by the Masonic Blue Lodge #172 immediately following at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
