Burl Wade Higginbotham, 78, of Harrisville, died Nov. 8, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born Mar. 21, 1937 at Mellin, WV, the son of the late John Arley and Margaret Eddy Higginbotham. He had worked road construction for Carl Kelley and Shelly Sands Cos. and AD Steed construction building houses and then was self-employed. He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors and visiting with friends and family.

Burl is survived by his children, Michael Higginbotham, Port St. Lucie, FL, Crystal Burwell (Mark) of Harrisville, Deborah Felder of Orange Park, FL, and Steven Higginbotham of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Craig Burwell, and Joscelyne Dominguez; and great grandchildren, Hunter Burwell and Elijah Wade Dominguez.

He was preceded in death by brothers Bob and Bill Higginbotham; and sisters, Artie Johnson and Alice Adams.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 1 PM Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville with Rev. Olin Dale Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Deem Cemetery, Beatrice.
