Born and reared in South Dakota, she moved to Minnesota as a young girl. She was married to Fred Veit in 1908. They moved to Lodi in 1919 and farmed in the area for many years. Mr. Veit died in 1950.
She was a charter member of the board of directors for Haven of Peace Women's Home in French Camp. She was very active in church affairs and ladies' organizations within the church.
Mrs. Veit is survived by one son, Earl F. Veit of Truckee; four daughters, Marie Coblentz of Acampo, Irene Gardner, Doris Lagomarsino, both of South San Francisco, Lois Meeks, of Nevada; two brothers, Harry Bach of Minnesota, Herb Bach of Oregon; two sisters, Margaret Anderson of South Dakota, Grace Bach of Minnesota; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Veit; one son, Walter Veit; one daughter, Pearl Stafford and one sister, Elsie Erickson.
