Beverly Ann Larson Knapp died Sunday at St. Mary’s Healthcare after a short hospitalization.

Born in Amsterdam on Sept. 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen Madelyn Miller Larson. Beverly attended McCleary Elementary School, Roosevelt Junior High and graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1949 and went on to graduate from Mildred Elly Business College in June 1950. On Sept. 21, 1957 she was married to Gerald I. Knapp, to whom she remained devoted after his death on Feb. 18, 1989.

Beverly worked a short time in the Mohawk Mills Business office, and later began a long career with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, recognized for her 36 years of service when she retired as office manager July 4, 1987. She was a member of the Met Life Veterans Association, The Historic Amsterdam League, Walter Elwood Museum and formerly of the Art- Wel Chapter Eastern Star and Memorial Hospital pink ladies. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Forest Ave. Methodist Church and was currently a member of the United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by grandparents John and Margaret Wilkinson Larson and John and Lana Eschler Miller and aunt and uncle Bertha Miller and Albert McKnight.

She leaves her loving sister and brother- in- law, Bertha L. Kauffman and The Rev. Gerald A. Kauffman of Hagaman; adopted brother and sister Gerald & Barbara Faulds; nephews and niece Edward and Lisa Klena Jr. and James Klena as well as many family and church friends and her feline companion “Peek-a Boo”.

Interment to follow in the family plot in Hagaman Cemetery.
