Maxine was the daughter of Earl Noah Rickard and Julia Hackett and lived in Bedford, IL until 1936 when her family moved to Detroit. In 1944, she was hired as a stewardess by American Airlines. Maxine was engaged to AA Pilot C.W. Grigg and was to be married the week following the accident. Besides her parents and fiancee, she was also survived by a brother, Edward.
