Harry was the son of John and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Chandler, he was a welder by trade and worked for the Utah Welding Company for many years. He was a avid fisherman, fishing many Utah lakes and streams as well as deep sea fishing.

He contacted Pneumococcues and meningitis which lead to his early death at the Holy Cross Hospital in 1949, survived by his wife Leila (McFarland) Chandler, two daughters, Dorthy and Arlene, his mother Minnie, brother Berkley Chandler and sister Mrs. Esther Freebairn
