Melpha Olevia Augason Koldewyn, age 87, died April 15, 1995 in the Salt Lake LDS Hospital.

Born September 24, 1907 in Fountain Green to Carl Sophus and Sarah Ann Jensen Augason.

Married Zwier William John (Bill) Koldewyn on July 31, 1944. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 24, 1947. Bill died March 9, 1969.

Melpha was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in Primary, Sunday School, MIA, and Relief Society.

Melpha taught in the elementary schools in Fountain Green, Morgan City, Park City, Salt Lake City, and Kaysville. She taught for forty-five years in the third, fourth, and sixth grades. She especially enjoyed teaching fourth grade. Her students, along with her nieces and nephews were her "family."

She was a charter member of the Utah Nature Study Society, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and of the American Association of University Women.

Melpha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill; brothers, Orland Sophus and Gerald LeRoy; and sisters, Dora Eileen Crawford and Sarah Evelyn Larsen. Survived by a brother, Glen Dilworth Augason; and fourteen nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 1995 at 1:00 p.m. in the South Cottonwood Seventh Ward Chapel, 1250 East 4800 South, Millcreek. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale, on Tuesday, April 18, 1995 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services at the church on Wednesday from 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
