Ann Hepzibah (Mayfield) Hewitt was the daughter of Thomas and Bridget (Cartwright) Mayfield. She was the 1st wife of Rev. John Templeman Hewitt. They were married Spaulding, Lincolnshire, England April 24, 1839. They came to America with their four children May 11, 1846. She died between March and August 1850. Rev. Hewitt was a minister in the Black River Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
