Age 81, of St. John, IN, formerly of Calumet City, IL, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2003. Survived by 4 children: Jeffery (Ann) Ratajczak of Burnham, IL, Janet (Ken) Snyder of Dyer, IN, Carol (Pat) Counts of Morocco, IN and Michael (Doris) Ratajczak of Westville, IN; 11 grandchildren: Andrew, Elizabeth, Michelle, Aaron, Jason, Jill, Lance, Evan, Brittany, Colin and Douglas; 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Doreen.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2003, 9:30 a.m. at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Avenue (Rt. 41) St. John, IN with Rev. Steve Schuneman, officiating. Burial St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Post Everlasting services at 7 p.m.
Mr. Ratajczak was a former resident of Calumet City for 50 years, retired from Wisconsin Steel and was an Insurance Broker and Real Estate Broker. He was a veteran of the Arm Air Corps serving in Europe. He was a life member of American Legion Post #369 of East Chicago and the V.F.W. Post #8141 of Calumet City where he was a past commander. He was also past commander of District #16 of the V.F.W.
