Frances Marie Allen
Frances Marie Allen (nee Spangler), age 81 of Sykesville, MD died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her home. Born May 14, 1934 in Jennerstown, PA, and raised in Baltimore, MD, she was the oldest child of the late Ansley Scheeler and Earl F. Spangler. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband August (Gus) Allen and sons James Allen of Richmondville, NY, Paul Allen and his wife Lisa and grandchildren Katie and Sara of Sykesville, and son Greg Allen, of Westminster, MD. Frances is also survived by Susan and David Allen of St. Leonard, MD, the wife and son of Douglas Allen who passed away in 2011. Also surviving Frances are her loving sisters, Donna Harrell, Carole Ludtke and her husband Nick, Sharon Neubert and her husband Bruce, and Ann Hansen and her husband Dan. She is also survived by her brother Earl Spangler. Her many nieces and nephews were dear to her heart. She will be lovingly remembered by all of them.
Frances' life was filled with a wealth of happiness and family members and will be cherished forever. She was a devoted wife and mother to Gus and her four sons and loved spending time with them and her entire family. Frances was an active and supportive member of the ARC of Carroll County for many years.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Inurnment will immediately follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
