Tilman Jerone "Pop" Hargrave, age 85, of Hamburg, formerly of Warren, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born Nov. 8, 1918, in Bradley County a son of the late James Augustus and Lenora Ellen Beard Hargrave, he was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a retired painting contractor and a member of First Baptist Church of Warren.

Survivors are a son, Michael Jerone "Mick" Hargrave of Hamburg; a daughter, Nancy Gwin of Hamburg; four grandchildren, Kim Lauhon and spouse Ronnie, Eric Adams and David Simmons, all of Hamburg, and Les Simmons of Tempe, AZ; and four great-grandchildren. He married Hazel Polk on Dec. 23, 1940, and she died Feb. 2, 1985. A daughter, Jean Simmons; six brothers, Plez, Harvey, Jimmy, Jessie, Hamilton and Preston Hargrave; and two sisters, Eunice Roam and Musette Corbett also preceded him in death.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Frazer's Funeral Home chapel in Warren with Revs. Charles Corbett and Greg Stanley officiating. Janice Sullivan was organist, and the Haley Creek Band provided special music. Pallbearers were Glen Lockeby, Gary Grider, Bobby Hargrave, John Hall, Johnnie Pierce, Trey Tubbs, Richard Gwin and Evan Hogan. Burial followed services at the Oakland Cemetery.
