LA PLATA, MD - Wesley E Hughes Sr, 75, died July 11, 1995, in Leonardstown, MD
Mr Hughes was born in Norfolk. He retired from the Virginia National Guard as a major and also retired from C&P Telephone. He was a Methodist, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Elizabeth Masonic Lodge #34 AF/AM and the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a 1940 graduate of Maury High School.
Survivors include a son, Wesley E and his wife Eileen P Hughes Jr of La Plata, Md; a brother, George S Hughes of Norfolk; and two grandchildren, Lisa V Hughes and Steven J Hughes, both of La Plata, Md.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 am Thursday in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev Morris Bennett where masonic rites will be accorded. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 7 to 8 pm today. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society National, Hampton Roads Chapter, 405 S Parliament Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
