Sarah Nell (Harrison) McEachern, age 90 of Loudon, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015. Mrs. McEachern was born to the late Mary E. (Alford) and John C. Harrison, Sr. in Loudon County, Tennessee. As a young woman she worked as a welder in the Naval Shipyards of Panama City, FL, during WWII. There she met her future husband, Bob McEachern. Together, they returned to Loudon where they founded Bob McEachern Studios in 1945 with an emphasis in taking school pictures in Tennessee and Kentucky. Mrs. McEachern loved helping preserve history. She was a member of the Hiwassee Chapter, DAR; a member of the First Families of Tennessee with 7 of her forefathers settling in the area before Tennessee’s statehood. She was a lifetime member of the E. TN Historical Society; a member of the Landmarks of Loudon County and Co-Chair of the book entitled “Loudon County, Tennessee and It’s People 1870-1999” a project sponsored by the Loudon County Heritage Committee. Mrs. McEachern was a longtime member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lathrop McEachern; siblings, John C. Harrison, Jr., Benjamin F. Harrison, Ralph Harrison, Marie Pennington, Virginia Hewett and Helen Greenway. Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Mary Annie and Dr. William McPeake, Knoxville, Sarah Joe and T.E. Coppinger, Charleston, TN; son and daughter in-law, Carlie and Lynn McEachern, Loudon; grandchildren, Lori McEachern and husband, Russ Mayo, Carlie and wife, Jay McEachern, William R. McPeake, Adrianne McPeake and Molly McPeake and husband, Daniel Stabley; great grandchildren, Jackson McEachern, William McPeake-batten, Bennett Stabley; numerous nieces and nephews. Services honoring and remembering Mrs. McEachern will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday, Nov. 17th, graveside in the Harrison Family Cemetery with Rev. Brian Courtney officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison Family Cemetery Fund, 1440 Roberson Springs Rd., Loudon, TN 37774. The family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 PM Monday, Nov. 16th at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, 406 Wharf St. Loudon. www.mcgillkarnes.com.
