Mrs. Daisy E. Fawns, 78, of Springfield, died Friday at Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Waverly, the daughter of Thomas and Lennie Mayes Large. Her husband, Arbin, died Nov. 11, 1971. She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are three sons, Edward Shiffer of Mesa, Ariz., Walter Shiffer and Leroy Shiffer, both of Springfield; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Farley, Mrs. Betty Bolt and Mrs. Ethel Sloper, all of Springfield; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

They married Oct. 17, 1915 per marriage notice in Illinois State Journal, Springfield, IL, 10-18-1915:

Married, Sunday Oct. 17, 1915, at the home of the bride, Homer E. Shiffer and Miss Daisy E. Large, both of Lowder. The couple will reside at Lowder.
