Albert Rufas Mercer, of 2612 Holmes Ave., died at 7:30 p.m. yesterday at Memorial hospital. He was 82 years old.
Mr. Mercer, a retired paper hanger, was born April 25, 1868 at Eagletown, Ind.
He moved to Springfield when he was a child.
He was a member of the South Side Church of Christ.
His wife preceded him in death.
Surviving are a stepson, Roy B. Faust; a stepdaughter, Mrs. William H. Grant, both of city; and a brother, George W., of Decatur.
