Mr. Garry Joe Banks age 75, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on September 13, 1940 in Carroll County, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late, Russell and Roberta Leerain (Crafton) Banks. He was raised in Carroll County, Kentucky where he was a 1959 graduate of the Carroll County High School. Garry was united in marriage on February 14, 1962 at the Rev. Tom Mefford's home in Williamstown, Kentucky to Grace L. Smith. This happy union of fifty three years was blessed with two daughters, Laura and Sheila. Garry owned and operated with his wife Bob-A-Lin Bakery in Carrollton, Kentucky for five years. He was a driver for White Star Bus for several years. He was also employed in the feed mill for Irwin's Feed Store in Madison, Indiana. He was on the assembly line for Canonical in Carrollton, Kentucky and was a former plant manager for Meese's MFG in Madison, Indiana. He was a former bus driver for the Madison Consolidated School Corporation. He was also employed for Kentucky Motors and M&T Chemicals. Garry resided his entire life in Carroll County on two farms and for the past 18 months in the Madison community. He was a member of the Green Road Baptist Church in Madison, Indiana where he enjoyed attending gatherings. Garry enjoyed farming his entire life, raising dairy cows, corn, tobacco, soybeans and hay. He loved socializing and never met a stranger. He enjoyed making others talk to him even if they did not want to talk! Garry also enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and tinkering on the farm. Most of all, his family always came first. He will be dearly missed by his loving family, friends and his community. Garry died on Sunday, November 15, 2015, at 4:12 p.m. at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Garry will be missed by his loving wife of fifty three years Grace L. Smith banks of Madison, Indiana; his loving daughters, Laura Banks Lockridge and her husband, Randy, Sheila Banks Harmon; his loving grandchildren,; his adoring great-granddaughter; his brothers, Larry Banks and his wife, Annis of Milton, Kentucky, Barry Banks and his wife, Martha of Madison, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Roberta Leerain (Crafton) Banks, his infant nephews, and his nephew, Jason Banks.

Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, November 29, 2015, at 6:00 p.m., by Pastor Brad McClure at the Green Road Baptist Church, 432 Green Road in Madison, Indiana. Interment and services were private in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky
