Mrs. Robert W. Adams
Mrs. Robert W. Adams, nee Henriette Deslonde, sister-in-law to Gen. Beauregard, the famous Confederate warrior, died at her home, 1223 North Rampart street, this morning at 2 o'clock. She was the last of her generation of the Deslonde family, all her sisters and brothers having gone before her. She was born in the parish of St. John the Baptist seventy-one years ago, and numbered among her relatives many prominent people. Her father was Major Andre Deslonde.
Mrs. Adams was married in New Orleans to Robert Ward Adams of Kentucky, more than forty years ago. Mr. Adams, who died ten years ago, was a well-known steamboat agent and had his office in Commercial alley.
Mrs. Adams was a sister to the wife of Ambassador John Slidell, who was at one time United States Senator. Mrs. J.M. Seixas and Mrs. P.A. Guiol were also her sisters. Three children survive her: Mrs. Thomas Worthington of Leota, Miss.; Miss Caroline Adams, and George W. Adams, a California insurance man. She leaves for nieces: Mrs. Julia Aldridge, Mrs. David Baldwin, wife of the postmaster; Mrs. C.E. Greggs, Atlanta, and Mrs. Alfret Clart, Mexico. The two last are wives of prominent railroad men. Her nephew, Deslonde Sexias, is connected with the Northeastern road in this city.
The funeral will take place tomorrow at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
