Freda Madge Horner, 77, 1802 Sycamore St., Niles, died at 4:05 a.m. Friday at Pawating Hospital.
She was born Feb. 19, 1910, in Jefferson Township, Cass County, and was a lifetime area resident. Horner retired in 1977 as a rural route carrier for the United States Postal Service. Horner was the past state counselor for the Daughters of America and was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
On Jan. 23, 1932, she married Robert L. Horner, who died Dec. 31, 1977.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Stinnett of Edwardsburg; two brothers, Sanford Merrill of Kalkasco and Derwood Merrill of Niles; a sister, Belle Anderson of Niles; and four grandchild. (Niles Daily Star – Niles, MI – 28 March 1987)
