Ruby Ethel Neel
SWEETWATER - Ruby Ethel Neel, 85, died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lamar Street Baptist Church with the Revs. Keith Clifton and James Healer officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Neel was born in Hamlin and had lived in the area for many years. She attended Sam Houston State University, graduated from McMurry College and taught school at Capitola, Hobbs, Hermleigh and Roscoe for 35 years. She was a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church and Retired Teachers Association. She married Raymond Neel in 1936 in Sweetwater; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one sister, Garnet Grigson of Buchanan Dam, and 11 nieces and nephews.
