CORN HUSKING CONTEST

~ Thornton-Oct. 26 – A great many of our people are looking forward with great interest to a corn husking contest to be held one mile east of Rockwell on Oct. 28. Jack Hayes has put up $100 that August Meyer can crib more corn in ten hours than any other man in this section. A farmer living one mile east of Rockwell covers it that his hired man can beat Meyer. August is a regular whirlwind in the cornfield, and he will give his competitor a good chase.
