Funeral services for Lloyd Oty Emery, 64, Lathrop, formerly of Edina, will be held at two o'clock this afternoon (Sunday, November 2, 1986) in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina. Dr. Dale A. Jorgenson of Kirksville, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the St. Paul Episcopal Churchyard in Kansas City.
Mr. Emery died at 4:50 Thursday morning (October 30, 1986) in the Trinity Hospital in Kansas City. He had been in failing health.
Born 11, 1922, in Camp Point, Illinois, he was son of Olen Olaf and Lettie Ann Reed Emery. He was never married.
Surviving are his step-mother, Nettie Emery McLean of North Adams Home in Mendon, Illinois; one step-sister, Mrs. Paul (Mary Margaret) Munger of Carthage, Illinois and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Emery was reared in the state of Illinois. He attended school in Fountain Green, Illinois and was a graduate of the Bowen (Illinois) High School. Later he moved with his family to Shelbyville. Several years ago he moved to a farm south of Edina. He was employed with Joe Burdman Auto Parts in Edina and Edina Feed and Livestock Supply. In the middle 1970's he moved to Kansas City where he was employed with the Trinity Hospital as a security guard until his retirement in May 1986. At that time he moved to his present home in Lathrop.
During World War II, Mr. Emery served with the United States Navy.
He was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Kansas City.
