Albert fought in The Great War. A shell exploded in his arm which left a terrible scar. He was a prisoner of war and the German doctors tossed a coin to decide if they should amputate his arm. They did very good surgery and saved his arm. He married a woman named Mary, to the horror of his family who were sure she was Catholic and would try to interfere with their religion. They had no children.
