After 1902 the family moved to Nashville, Tennessee where George set up a law practice with his son William Henry Lawrence. He was twice Mayor of North Vernon, Indiana both in 1899 and 1902.
On June 22, 1927, only two years before his death, she married a widower Rubin B. Hager.
