Franklin - Tishie Luvada Howard Arvey, 94, of Floyd Shuler Road, Franklin, passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at a local nursing home.
She was a native of Swain County, the daughter of the late William Roby and Susan Luvada Slagle Howard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Furman Carl Arvey, who passed away in 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She loved to garden and quilt.
She is survived by one daughter, Clara "Nancy" Lynch and her husband, George, of Franklin; two sons, Dennis Arvey and his wife, Maxine, and Douglas Arvey and his wife, Brigitte, all of Franklin; four sisters, Hazel Pruett of Greensboro, Hettie Howard of Hickory, Gertrude Rogers and Lexie Winchester of Bryson City; and three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Bryant Funeral Home with the Revs. Judson Hall and Gene Bohner officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Methodist Cemetery. Roy Burnette, Richard Burnette, Larry Winchester, Bruce Shuler, Bob Simons, Jack Kusterer and Leonard Winchester will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home.
